Remote Desktop as a KVM

Anyone try using windows RP as a KVM? I'm trying to get clear out some space on my desk and thought this would be an easy (cheap) solution.

I'm also thinking of using UltraVNC. I don't care about accessing my pc's while off my home network, so it should be secure as they are behind my linksys firewall, right?

thanks!

You mean you'll only be using it internally and not from another location?
If so, as long as the VNC port isnt open on your router you should be fine.

Yeah, only internally.

I don't need to open a port for VNC if it running internally?

I assume opening a port is for getting to the outside world.

thanks.

As long as the software firewall on that particular machine (if there even is one) is configured properly, you should be able to access the VNC server from your LAN with no problems
