Ok, this is for a portable AC appliance so if you'll bear with me...
I have a Haier portable air conditioner that has a remote control.
It works for a few minutes after the battery is in.
If the remote is left as is with the batteries in, it stops functioning properly.
But if I use the remote and then remove the batteries right away, as long as I only put the batteries in when it's in use it works. Otherwise, if I leave the batteries in, it doesn't work.
Any techies want to take a stab at why?
