Remote Control Shutter Release for Digital Camera

I'm trying to help my dad find a remote control for a digital camera... *any* reasonably priced digital camera. All we can find are remote controls for Sony Alpha and Canon Rebels and such.

Does anyone have a regular priced digital camera with a remote control?

if you can find a powershot G6, those come with an IR remote.

the G7 does not have one, yet another feature canon crapped out on. they should have just called it the S90 and gotten it over with.

the samsung NV10 has an optional remote

Many cams can be controlled by your PC through the USB cable.

Olympus C750UZ it is a remote for shutter and video palyback ,zoom,fwd / rvrse.

Not fair that Canon P&S's come with the remote...I had to pay $20 for the same thing to use with my DSLR 🙁

Unless you need a wireless remote, the DigiSnap is a pretty good wired shutter release type of unit. One came with my Nikon 5700 a couple of years back...
