Remote control/screen sharing software?

Howdy,

Friend of mine wants me to walk him through doing something and I'm wondering if there's a way I can remote into his PC from mine. Not sure what OS he has but I'm on Vista Premium.

I normally use Google Talk but that doesn't have screen sharing built in.

Do any IM clients have that built in? I did read about something called Yuuguu but am not sure how that works. I just need to be able to see his screen and move him mouse around but don't want to have both of us have to go get some fancy software to do it since this will be a one time thing.

Teamviewer is a good easy choice. There's also AMMYY Admin. Don't be turned off by the website being Russian (it's in english), it also works very well and is straightforward to explain to someone.
 
Logmein should work great for this, I believe there is an option to initiate chat when logging into the remote PC.
 
i've used LogMeIn a few times and found it nice and simple, however, after reading about TeamWork, i got the impression TW is even simpler. nice find CZJZ!
 
Yeah I downlaoed Teamwork and I'll see if that works for me. It's nice that you don't have to actually install it. Can just run it right from the executable file.
 
I like teamview, my customers find it a hassle to setup an account (crossloop) and with teamview I can leave the.exe on my website
 
Just used Team Viewer to help my parents and it worked pretty well. Nice since they can just leave the program siting on their desktop and don't have to actually install anything.
 
I give +1 for crossloop. Tiny download, no firewall issues, no permissions problems. Easy and fast to use. Best of all free! 😀
