Because you don't "waste" money doing things you enjoy? Maybe burning things that you spend money on? Many people consider that a waste.
 
too bad there's nothing to indicate that the cockroach actually knows it is controlling its movement and isn't just randomly trying to move its legs since it is stuck.

Last I checked, we're all pretty much free to do what we want with our money.
