Remote Control Recomendation?

Hey all...

I'm thinking of building a SFF for a basic HTPC system. All I want to be able to do initially is to control a DVD player (PowerDVD?) and Windows Media Player or WinAmp.

Are any of the remotes from NewEgg able to do this easily? The ability to control the rest of my HT stuff would be nice, but not necessary.

Thanks in advance for any input.

You could try getting this TV card and use the remote.

You need a program called Girder to use the remote to control your apps.

I bought the card for the TV capability, not the remote, but I find I like the remote just a much as the card itself. I have used it with Winamp mostly. It should be easy to set up with any app which allows keystrokes to be used as shortcuts.

One thing you might watch out for is the IR receiver. It comes out of the back of the cord as a long cable. To make it look nice, you might have to route it back through your computer and mount it at the front of your case.

The ATI Remote Wonder you can buy it separately, it is the best PC remote i have ever used, number one it is RF so you don't have to have line of site to the receiver, you can be up to 60 feet away i believe. Also it has the mouse pointer thing that lets you use it as a mouse very handy for doing some thins. Also ATI Multmedia Software is superb and works well with the Remote, but you can use any player with it eg. PowerDVD(I use PowerDVD to watch DVD's and SVCD's as well).
