I'm starting a new job that's a very long commute but they tell me I can telecommute. How much remains to be seen. I know not much about this yet, but I was told that they can supply me with pcAnywhere. All this through a headhunter and I've had no communication with anyone else at this point. Here's my concern - I have Timbuktu for Windows installed. I own two licenses and plan to help my brother with his computers via Timbuktu. Now, some documentation with Timbuktu says you are not supposed to have any other remote control software installed on your machine or there will be/may be trouble. I don't know what to think about this. Can someone provide some insight or suggestions? Thanks.
 
what is the OS? You could set up 2 different logins and have one app start only in one login and one app in the other login, or if they need seperated even further, you could set your machine up to dual boot and have one installed under each instance of windows, but you may be fine running both under yourself under one windows, just try not to have either autostart at login and just start the one that you need at that moment.

have you tried remotely anywhere (probably the newest version # is 4.1)? The way it works, I don't think it should interfere with any other remote control software. I find it much better than pc anywhere. Only cheaper.

I'm actually already multibooting. I usually run Win2k SP2, but also can run Win98SE and WinNT 4 SP6a. I guess it's worth trying running both side by side in Win2k and just not autostarting. I have Timbuktu set up to autostart, but that's just the default way it sets itself up. I've had a mind to disable that, anyway, since I haven't been using it. It's just taking up resources right now and has its icon in my system tray. If things don't work OK, I can try setting up a separate user for using Timbuktu or maybe I'll set up Timbuktu on my Win98SE installation. It would be nice if you could have both running simultaneously, but evidently that doesn't work!

 
I have a question about pcAnywhere versus Timbuktu: TB2 supports file tranfers between the client and host computers. Can you do this with pcAnywhere?
