Remote Car Starter Installation question

Anyone know how to install one in a Sunfire? 🙂 I have a ProStart 3100 that I bought for my wife last christmas already, and am starting to feel guilty now that I haven't installed it yet (mostly b/c it's -30c today). The instructions that come with the unit explain what each wire is for, (ie connect the green wire to the....), but I'm not sure which wires under the dash of my 1998 sunfire I should be splicing in to.
Anyone know of an installation guide?

Take out the old one, put in the new one. If you're splicing wires under the dash, you're in way over your head.

na, I'm a farm boy, and have played around with all manners of mechanical and electrical stuff. I'll figure that all out. I've never done a remote car starter before, mind you. I just need to know how to find a wiring diagram for my sunfire. The car didn't previously have a car starter, so this will be a first time install in this vehicle.

I think he's talking about a remote starter, but your comment still applies. Get a professional to help.

Just pretend it's a John Deere.
😉

Hopefully it came with instructions. I did one years ago and don't remember it being too difficult.

take the remote starter and buy a real car to put it in.
sorry but it had to be said!
bought a sunfire for my little sister and it was the biggest piece of shlt i ever bought.
wouldn't wish one of them on my enemies

buy a shop manual for the car. then find the wiring diagrams. that, combined with the directions in the remote starter pack, should give you enough info to do the job.

3 years ago I would have thought the same thing. She bought it before we were married, and I complained lots then. 🙂 But, it's only taken maybe $400 worth of parts to keep on the road, we've put on 100k km's and we get about 45 miles/gallon (imperial gallons) So, it's not doing too bad. 🙂

Thanks to everyone else for your info.
