Remote Assistance

What are some good programs for Remote Assistance..I know Windows has one but just looking at alternatives. Would like to know the good the bad and the ugly about them. I am going to use them for simple fixes for a notebook going to Iraq, I will have the Notebook here in a 1 week and would like to install something that is easy and works

VNC - I'm not so sure on it's secureness but at the end of the day it performs flawlessly

i would either use Windows Remote Assistance or VNC

I use Dameware, it has a lot of other utilities but costs money.

VNC is horribly insecure.

Remote Desktop is built into Windows, is fully supported, and has no known security vulnerabilities. Why not use it?

you should try remote administrator. they are working on version 3.0 now but version 2.2 is pretty good and i use it religiously. 🙂

Any flavor of VNC (Real/Tight/Ultra/etc.) that supports encryption.

There is a lot of of security modules available for VNC.

However in most cases it is Not installed by default you have to sepnd few addtional minutes to install and configure it.
