Ok i have been looking and am still yet to find one. I am looking for a program like www.gotomypc.com to acess my home comp when on the go. Id like reote admin rather than a simple FTP prog. I would however like it to be a prog that hosts a web server type thing that does not require the viewing computer to have any viewer software installed on it, just to do it thru the internet. Is there such a thing, or are they all like vnc where both computers need software?

Two thoughts..

I think there's a java plug-in for VNC.

There's also a way to run Remote Desktop in a browser - Look for details at this MSN blog.

Both Computers OSs, the Viewer, and Host has to be Java capable (it has nothing to do with VNC. No java related application, will work to begin with if there is no Java engine).

In the ultr@VNC Host you have to enable the http viewer (check mark in the upper left side).

Nothing additional to install.

you need to user port forwarding in your router. are you using DHCP on your server ? if u are , you will also have to enter the physical MAC address to forward the incoming VPN tunnel to the right workstation or host

It doesn't matter what software you use. You will have to enable port forwarding. You need to forward 5800 for vnc to work through a web browser. Then to access your computer you would go to http://yourip:5800

you need to log into your gateway's port forwarding area and assgn a port number to each MAC address
