Why wouldn't they call it 9.0d so as to not confuse the crap out of everyone?

Or just use numbers. 9.080316 or similar (where the number after the decimal represents the date it was launched).

Calling it 9.0d would imply an extension to the DirectX API but that will never happen since they've moved to DX10 now.

No, at least the quarterly builds were historically not pushed down via Windows Update.

Many thanks for the heads up.

I was having instability issues with EVE following the boost patch and was about to do a full reinstall. Installing this update seems to have fixed it, now I can alt-tab to my hearts delight!

Uh, no, can you imagine the general population w/tech support? It is 9.0564564564 or is it 9.5465465 oh this is so difficult! Way too many digits for the room temperature IQ folks to handle.

I did the web install, and clicked without reading.. now it seems to be done it didn't ask to reboot Windows. Weird..

Quite normal,I did not have to reboot either,it only updates some DX files etc...depending on what has been changed/updated and what version you have had previously installed.
