jer22, almost past you by but decided to make an input. 1st it sounds like your wife works for an org that has a good sized network and hard IT Staff? 2nd, sounds like she needs to take meds at perscribed times and has a problem remembering to take them?
The last org I worked for had about 700 people at the corp hq and then thousands more around the world. Out IT Staff routinely would utilize the network to send reminders to those personel needing to take perscription drugs at specified times.
I would suggest that instead of trying to go around the system managers and installing a piece of software that might or might not work in the first place to visit your wifes IT Staff and ask if there is something built into their system that would do the same thing. This would also take the tension away from your wife useing this software, knowing that if she were found out, she could be looking for a new job.
IT Depts vary widely and usually is a function of the personalities involved as to how much coorporation they will provide users. Some, it is a matter of company policy to assist their employees with personal needs as much as possible.
My two cents. Hope I have not offended but possibly provided an avenue neither of you had thought about.
Bill
p.s. good luck with your delima
