I didnt know I'd have to go to gym, let alone climb the rope the first day I went to my new middle school when I moved mid-year.... since I wasn't excepted to be dressed for it, they let me climb in my street clothes..... heavy boots and all.... I did it so fast the whole class was like

being able to lock your boot tread onto the rope will help a lot with this...

Nope, in California that would be discrimination against fat/French people.

We were required to in the Los Angeles Unified School District actually.

But that was probably back when LA was still politically incorrect. Nowadays the rope is considered hurtful and offensive.
Dude I so doubt you could have done the rope.

Anyone have the peg board in Elementary School? Those were impossible.

Peg board and chin-ups were fine. Ropes I couldnt get off the bottom unless there were knots, and i couldnt do pushups or dips.

Rope was fine (no legs required - I had a 75' rope swing at my parents I used to climb up for fun), chin-ups were no problem (I was so light and muscular, I always could do the most reps in the shortest amount of time), I can still do 60 pushups in under a minute, but that damn peg-board was still impossible. Maybe it was because of lack of coordination or something..

My gym teacher totally understood that certain kids (myself included) just could not climb the rope, and was cool about it.

He didn't appreciate, though, when I tried using it to do a Tarzan routine!!

Wow.

And, yeah, I climbed the rope. I didn't get rope bun either...

Probably because you had a short rope, a pad underneath, and a penis to potect.

We didn't have ropes. That said, I'm absolutely sure I couldn't have done it if we did.

My body development through puberty was a cruel joke. Until I was about 12-13 I was a skinny pile of bones...I could run like a flaming banshee and do tons of chinups. However, apparently when I initially hit puberty I just got taller and fatter? and not more muscular. Oh, and of course the acne. Eventually the rest of me caught up and the acne subsided...but there's a reason I do not look back on highschool with fondness.

WTF is a pegboard?

It was the board on the wall with holes in it. You had 2 pegs with handholds that fit into the holes. The purpose was to climb up the board.

It's a lot like a cartoon where the character is climbing up a wall with plungers in his hands. :p

Explain how this can happen?

Coming down the rope... It was outdoors, very high up, and asphalt beneath us...

you aren't supposed to slide....Gosh. How high is high? Ours was like 35-40', something like that.

And my penis has nothing to do with it...

Gee, I guess you are an expert on female anatomy  Lots of people got rope burn because it was A GIANT rope. We got callouses, too, if that makes you feel better.
