Remember when you were in junior high and you had to climb the rope in gym class?

In 8th grade I could do it. That's when I grew much stronger and also got much taller.

yeah in fourth or fifth grade, i was one of the two kids that had the balls to go up at the time. After that we could only go up like 10 feet.

Girls still wore skirts when I attended junior high, and this one young lady lost hers at the top of the rope.
It spiraled down the rope so gracefully, quite unlike her humiliated descent.

I remember doing it until about 9th grade and there was no way people could get out of it unless they had some medical condition. I always could get up the rope but had no idea how to descend, and damn it was a LONG way donwn :Q

No rope, athletic people in my school district are literally 1 in 1000.

We not only climbed the rope, we were allowed to go up to the ceiling and jump off onto the crash mats. Now they don't even let them climb the rope all the way if they let them climb them at all, because the kids are too fat or they're worried about getting sued if someone gets rope burn or something.

This was about two decades ago. I wonder if my Jr. High still does it. It's sad, actually, how out of shape Americans are even at that age.
