Post some of your recent or very old nostalgic memories and see if anyone else remembers.

Remember when people used to brag about how many mp3s they had on their ipod or hard drive? Now days we don't even buy music. We just listen to streaming stations.

Remember when people use to brag about how many 45s they had? And record players were carried around in small suitcase type carriers.

Remember the old land yachts like Buicks and Cadillacs? You had plan turns 20 minutes ahead and it took forever to get anywhere because you were lucky to get 8 miles/gallon so you always had to stop for gas.

Oh yeah, good times.

Remember when you could get a piece of candy for a single penny?
We had two small shops within 300 yards of our house. I believe Fireball candy was 3 cents each. We used those as a filler items when we had a dollar to spend.

My favs were Lik-M-Aid (Fun Dip), Drumsticks (ice cream), Hot Fries, Bacon and Cheddar Fries, and Fireball candy.

I remember a small store had a penny gumball machine. if you got the yellow gumball you could get any 5 cent candy bar for free. Candy bars had just gone from 5 cents to 10 cents...My older brother asked the guy at the counter about it. He said he would give us 5 cents off a candy bar.

Remember when people used to have to have a computer, tablet, or phone, an internet connection, a streaming account, and still a bluetooth linked amp and speakers to not sound like ass, when today all we need is an FM radio boombox. ;)

Lol, yes, HDD were dirt cheap and I still have an unused set of luggage they threw in free with a promo code. Crazy times.

@mindless1 - There IS a certain joy in simplicity, but honestly, it has to have a CD player. I mean wouldn't have killed and eaten a sibling for a mobile record player that didn't ever skip (well, mostly).

They rode smooth like sitting on your living room couch, and 8 MPG,, consider gas was 50 cents a gallon at the time?

Plus they were inexpensive to repair. It was a better time unless someone can't drive to save their life and needs nanny features and ultimate performance just to safely drive the speed limit on public roads. The one exception is of course that we had to improve fuel economy because oil IS a renewable resource but only if we use it at an equal or lower rate than it is formed.

[rant]Ultimately this is the irony, that the only truly renewable resource is energy from the sun and it making biofuel from the plant matter the planet can sustain, whether oil or humans short stepping that process to make alcohol.[/rant] Wind? No. Solar? No. Nuclear? No. All these require raping the land and exhausting resources. Only solar generated biofuel is self sustaining in the long run.

50 cents/gallon gasoline nearly brought thus country to its knees...rationing, (odd/even plate numbers, alternating days)
I'm fckn old. Gasoline shouldn't be more than 35 cents/gallon. 1691382661507.png

FM is still in use?! (sarcasm)
But seriously, a cheap boombox would sound just as bad as just your phone on internal speakers, if you have decent headphones the phone will be much better.

Remember when parents would leave you unsupervised running around a city all day?! (Latchkey kid)

Remember when Hollywood would still release a decent movie once in a while?!
RLM remembers.

remember when you could enjoy second hand smoke, everywhere?

oh yeah those were good times. the smoke at mcdonalds definitely accentuated the subtle flavor of the happy meals i was eating.

and my great-grandmas smoked so much that i think visiting her house a few times a year probably took a couple years off my expected lifespan.

I have a list of "why did they allow that?".

Was on a plane 1 row in front of the smoking section.
