Actually, helmets make you more aerodynamic. The issue is going to be when the riders are going up some of the huge climbs in southern France in the middle of the summer (it can be brutally hot down there that time of year). No helmet is cooler than even the best-ventilated helmet.

That said, I race in Georgia in the summer with a helmet on and haven't died yet. It sucks, but I like my brains non-scrambled so I deal with it.

Exactly. It's about time the UCI took this stand......about a few deaths too late.
