Not only was this game sweet, I found it on a freeware site and downloaded it, only to have it in .d64 files (disk images I imagine). Anyways, I was able to extract the individual files out of it but have no idea how to run it. Does anyone have this game and know how to play it?

Is it the Amiga version, the PC version, or yet another one?

Got the Amiga version somewhere still, including all the maps.

Edit: And if it's freeware now, why not put a link to it here?

Searched a bit more.. said it needed winUAE to work, so I found that at winuae.net, but I can't get that to work.

Skyclad, do you know how to use this? You said you had the Amiga version...

But then, I still have my old Amiga 500 at home :)

Never found a working Amiga emulator really, so can't help much.
Maybe you can find an old Amiga at a carboot sale or so? Amiga 1000/500 should be enough to run the game, but unless you have an extra floppy drive you'll have to switch between the disks :p

One of the best games of all time! The best part about that game is that it taught me a great deal about Caribbean geography. :)

If it's .d64 it's probably the C-64/128 version. Try using a C64 emulator. Or look for the updated Pirates! Gold which you will probably not be able to find.
That game is immensely fun even 15 years later.

Ah, the memories. Overall, this is probably my favorite game ever, even though its been years since I played it. Considering it was released back in the C64 days, it had amazingly complex gameplay, and probably was the most advanced title for its time.

Is that the one where you can be Captain Incognito if you don't put in a name? ANd you had to sail around and you could buy canons and better boats and stuff?

If that's the one, I had that on my Apple IIGS many moons ago and I LOVED that game.
