His comedy did grow old quickly, but as a character comedian he was quite brilliant. What nuked his career, IMO, was an appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman(back when Letterman was still on NBC, and a great show). Someone heckled Clay from the audience which rattled Clay so much he couldn't remain in character. He started tearing up and revealed himself as actually quite fragile compared to the character he portrayed. I watched in shock, but couldn't help feel for him. 🙁

I have seen him in a movie or 2 recently, can't remember which ones though.
 
i remember listening to him when i was younger, my dad would actually give me audio tapes of him. he was hilarious 🙂

I liked him because his was a no apologies, this is what your really thinking, even if for only a moment, comedy.

Jealousy of him by the rest of comedy did him in.
 
But I bought you a pizza?


His bit on Dinero, Stallone, and someone else camping is soooo funny.
