I'm just doing a little research on Remarked Pentium 4 CPUs. If anyone has any articles about them please post the links. They will be greatly appericeated. Thanks!

I haven't heard of anyone unlocking the multiplier for P4s. Does this actually exist?

I believe vbibs is referring to systems that are sold with an overclocked FSB. You would need fairly sophisticated tools to unlock the mulitiplier of Intel's newer chips.

In Windows XP if you right click on my computer it shows default speed and the overclock speed right in the general tab.I don't know if the same is true for AMD chips.

15 years later, But at least, 😀, (Sorry for my english, i´m from Basque Country.)
I understand your quest, and you had reason , partially, The REMARKED processors, was PENTIUM, (Not Pentium 4), The TRICK consists of PAINT the CPU surface and SERIGRAPH as a High-Speed CPU. 😵TYPICALLY, was a REAL Pentium 75, serigraph as Pentium 90. Or a "fake" Pentium120, that really was a Pentium 90.
Those remarked processors, usually fail, on heavy works, like Excel... But not always... If you had suspect, you could use a Cutter or similar to scratch the surface or CPU and discover the Real Cpu😱 and for curiosity 🙄 I remember other fake !!! Chinese, Chinese:blush:..... hahaha The 486 Mobos , was the CACHE MEMORY made of full plastic !!!!. really, Incredible
