Didn't realize they had throat mics back then. Never seen that in any movies or documentaries.

This one was especially moving to me.
Me too, although that young lady in #36 is strikingly beautiful.

Great pics, HR, thanks. It's truly amazing what Kodachrome was capable of producing in the right hands and with the right preparation.

Good stuff Hayabusa, thanks for the link. I'm glad I had the chance to talk with my Grandfolks and parents about those days.

Do you mean 36? The one in 37 is pooing in her diaper.

Incredible! Thanks for sharing.

Growing up, I was inspired tremendously by the stories of the Doolittle Raiders and the 332d Fighter Group (Tuskegee Airmen). I have 2 shelves in my living room dedicated to each, where I collect related memorabilia / models / pictures, etc.

Really enjoyed the NAA B-25 and P-51 related shots

awww. you would have loved the Doolittle Raider flyin this weekend here. Whole mess of B-25's flew in to the USAF Museum and 8 of them just left yesterday. Nice little lunch time fly over. :D

things are LOUD for their size. Very impressive machines.

I wish my jawline was from the 40s :(

Move your family into a plaster box
Dig ditches from sun up to sun down everyday
Take a 5 min bread break at mid day
Take home a can of beans for the family for supper
Go to bed, thank God and repeat

You too can have the lean mean look

;)

Wasn't this originally in OT? Why did it get moved to P&N when it's not either?

edit: NM, guess I was wrong and it was originally posted here. Would make more sense (and see more views) in OT though IMHO.
