Relocating to Seattle. Suggestions for places to live?

I will be relocating to Seattle in about a month. I am looking for a decent 2 bedroom place I could rent for a few months. Any suggestions on areas that have a relatively good transit outreach? Also, what are some fun things to do in the city? 🙂

I will be working for Amazon which is located in the International dist.

seattle is pretty big , you might want to be more specific about where you are working/schooling/whatever

Agreed.

We need more specifics where you will be attending school or working.

Hopefully you can live near a bus line and just take 1 bus to work/school rather than transferring to multiple buses.

This will be interesting to me. I've only been in the Seattle area for a year. I never really had the benefit of this kind of input.

PS: any Seattleites want to get together sometime? Been here a year by myself (wife still isn't able to come), and pretty lonely. PM me.

Seattle has an excellent transit system. I live in bellevue and i can get to the U district in 15 minutes on bus. 20 to downtown, and thats WITH a bus switch. Although granted Bellevue can be pricey, the city is great and downtown bellevue has alot of new apartment complexes being built.

I worked on that campus before I came down to Ashland, any my commute was a breeze coming from the North.

That being said, all the better if you can simply avoid the largest

Renton/Tukwila (South) might be a decent option for you, to keep costs down. Might find a place on Mercer Island (just east, before Bellevue) (you "can" find cheap stuff there). Some of the neighborhoods get a bit shady, but just ask around.

(Assuming you'll be working in the old Naval Hospital that overlooks I-90.

So true, but then if you want to live really close to where you work, maybe you can try the Beacon Hill area.

He won't be working in the naval hospital from the google map he provided. He'll be in the newer office buildings next to Uwajimaya.

Do you want to live in Seattle proper or in the eastern suburbs (i.e. Bellevue)?

Also, how much do you want to pay in rent?
