Well, I made the move to Win2K and all crashed have stopped. Oh it's nice. ;)
Except my screen redraws are now much slower! PGdown in Internet Explorer (for example) has a very obvious redraw that wasn't there in WinME.

Top-to-bottom like a cheap "fill" routine. ;)

Driver issue? Easy fix?

Check over in the Rage3d forums. You may need to completely clean out all of the ATI drivers and associated registry entries. They have a document over there (should be a sticky one at the top of one of the forums) that tells you how to get rid of all traces of the driver. After you do all of that, install the latest ATI driver (6071) and see if that helps you out.

HTH :)

Would you believe I was running in 256 colour mode?
Oops. I could have sworn I set it to 32bit.... guess these things happen when doing a fresh install. ;)

BTW, if you haven't already, you should still upgrade to the latest (6071 series) ATI drivers. They offer a little more performance for many users than the previous drivers did.
