I know you're waiting for me to say something insensitive.
Nah, let the story speak.

BELFAST, Northern Ireland (AP) - Belfast's worst riots
in three years may have been encouraged by Catholic
and Protestant paramilitary groups, police said
Thursday.

Thirty-nine officers were injured, and five were treated
at hospitals, police said.

Can't we all just get along?

Welcome to the peaceful world of Christianity....

What a bunch of morons, like such riots will solve anything. I can well remember how the situation was not much better when I was still in elementary school and I don't think that anything will change soon.

Unless the police/army is called in to kill them all. That would be the only lasting peace treaty.

Sigh - the key words here are "Paramilitary Groups". These are violent groups pushing political agendas, NOT actually religious as they claim. The religious side is now just a convenient way to refer to them as its really the same Irish vs. British fighting that has gone on for centuries.

Read up on the fighting in Ireland -there are Catholics, protestants, and atheists on both sides. This is a violent political thing, not at all about religion. The Catholic church has outright condemned the violence in Ireland and asked repeatedly for it to stop.

This isn't about faith or religion, people - its about power, politics, old grudges, violence, and death. Its sick, sad, and wrong. :(

Very true. A while ago I read about the "beatings" that they give each other. Some actually have gone beyond typical beatings and will shoot people in the legs. One side even shot the wrong guy by mistake and he lost both legs below the knees.

Something tells me those involved in the violent clashes are not really Christians. ;)

If I massacred a group of people in a restaurant claiming to do it in the name of atheism, does that make you evil?

I know to what you're referring, but I didn't even suggest we should kill them. I just said that the only way we can keep those groups from attacking each other is by killing them or letting them kill themselves.

Optimus, reitz, I agree.
