Hello,

Guys I am in a huge discussion with some Black Hebrew and Kanye fan right now. I need a favor from people here who really knows about the bible and verses.

It is about Revelations 1:14

I need to know the correct verse. The part about Jesus hair looking white like wool.

"His head and His hair were white like white wool, like snow; and His eyes were like a flame of fire."

Or is it His hair were white like wool? Or was it his hair were white like white wool?

hair like white wool, and eyes like fire, are descriptive of an albino.

Any description in Revelation isn't an actual description of what Jesus looked like IRL.

I suppose there are black albinos too, eh?

Don't think it ever uses that description - only event that could come close would be the transfiguration situation after his resurrection (Mark 9:3) . . . or maybe you're thinking of Moses getting 10 commandments and going face-to-face with God. He sort of glowed afterward.
or possibly a divine entity that showed up in some guy's prophetic vision, detailing a future event?
Either way, I don't think that description is in the bible. Maybe it's from some non-canonical book. Could be wrong.

While I REALLY don't care about this "issue" very much, I will say this.

Assuming Jesus existed at all in the "biblical" sense (lol) he 100% certainly wasn't a lily-white European as he's most commonly pictured.

Just remind him that Revelation was written by a cave-dwelling hippie subsisting on desert mushrooms and nutmeg vapors, and the purely hallucinatory ramblings of revelation were simply a metaphorical screed about the 7 tribes/sultans of the region and the strife and wars that they brought; not the actual end-times.

It was never meant to be a religious screed. It was never about Jesus. It was purely secular and it was only added to the Bible by some old Italian assholes at the Vatican that voted to add it some 200+ years after they eventually established the papacy and the Catholic Church.

That guy never thought two tits about Jesus.

Remind him that Evangelicals are sociopaths, and whatever religious group he wants to align himself to--black Hebrews or the oil dousers or whatever--he'd be better off not joining one that shares the same sociopathy as Evangelicals.

And you are still going to waste time arguing with him? :S

Tell him whatever he says is right. Move on.

You were right. I was raised Catholic and not really religious. Not a good example of a Catholic myself.

However, I see these Black Hebrew guys being really hateful and nasty towards others. Almost militant in the way they respond to you. They think everyone else is dumb and stupid.

I was drinking one night and got bored and responded to a militant black Hebrew insisting Jesus was black as black could be. Personally, I think he might have looked more like a semitic person common at that time. Not white looking for sure.

Anyway, I was trying to tell him that John was using metaphors to describe a vision. It was pointless. They are just filled with hate and call people names who disagree with them. And these guys hate everyone. They hate the Israeli Jews, hate Muslims, hate Christians, hate Catholics, Hindus, Buddhist and the list goes on and on.

The problem is many Christians, and religious people in general are just ignorant. They don't even know the bible, and only cherrrypick the parts that they can stomach.

If Jesus was truly a real person, he would had been a short Muslim looking guy. But, we can't have that now. So Jesus was made to look very caucasian with long flowing hair. Its like he just came back from Woodstock. The Jesus that is in every home of every American grandmother. Oh, if they only knew the truth. But, was Jesus black? I highly doubt it.

Put a bunch of random Palestinians and Israelis wearing identical clothing in a "lineup" and you'll have a damn tough time telling one from the other.

Last time I brought up this VERY OBVIOUS FACT to a Jewish friend I was accused of being anti-semitic lol. (my ex & both my daughters are Jewish)

It's not only white Christians who base their opinions of others on "do they look like me?".

The real "takeaway" from this for me is WHO GIVES A $HIT ? ;)

How about "Jesus" is a mythical figure with about as much meaning in our daily reality as Zeus or Apollo?

The truth hurts.

Symbolically Jesus dying for our sins is a great story from which much can be learned if one reads it as philosophy BUT a "story" is exactly what it is.

To be clear I DO personally believe in a "higher power" of some kind but IMO the vast majority of childish nonsense "feel-good" religions MAN made up about it are pathetic and sad.

They serve mainly as an excuse to make something "other" and most importantly beyond our control responsible for our sins rather than us!

That's only in his SSJ1 form. Why do you think he had all those powers?

May I talk about Allah? The one true God that all Muslims fear and worship!!

Allahu Akbar.

I'd prefer not to. ;)

Swapping "Allah" for Jesus in my last post sums up my opinion of Islam/Allah (and MOST religions) nicely.

ANY religion that features an angry, petty and jealous "God" who behaves like a spoiled 8 year old AND (just by coincidence) is MAINLY concerned with keeping the serfs toiling in the fields is some pretty obvious bull$hit.
