Religions folks, can you explain this to me: Why does Jesus let so many people suffer?

Nocturnal

Lifer
I was just wondering if anyone had any reasonable answer.

I myself am a believer, but sometimes my faith goes into the negative zone.

Can anyone explain?

I don't want this to turn into a flame fest. Just some nice answers would be fine.

TAOT (Thanks Ahead Of Time)

Religious people only consider the good things that happen to come from God. Everything else is the work of the devil.....

People are morons. <----- I think I should make that my sig.

<< To put the fear of God in them? >>

you think?

sometimes i think he isnt there. its like im praying to air. but at times i feel that he is there. i try to keep the faith. but its hard at times.

Whether you want it or not, you are going to get a flame fest. Basically, no one knows. The most commonly held belief is that God doesn't want to directly control our lives, so he gives us the ability to make choices. The choices we make can be good or bad and may affect people in different ways. My theory is that our lives are centered around suffering and misery. Everything we do is to avoid it. When you go to work, you are trying to avoid the suffering of not eating or having a home. When you shower, you are avoiding the suffering that you will feel when others make fun of you. When you drive your car rather than bike, you are avoiding the suffering of getting worn out or tired. Everything we do is to avoid pain and suffering. If there were none, we would not have any incentive to do anything. What you are asking is a huge philisophical question that can't be answered just like that, but everyone can have their own oppinon and blame whoever. To tell you the truth, I don't really care.

I don't know the answer, but I always thought the fear thing was weird.

You are suppose to love God more then anything, but I can't see loving/respecting anything that I fear.

Btw: I believe in God(well somewhat) and I do not fear God.

NOTE: THIS IS JUST MY OPINION

I believe that God/Jesus gave us all free will

Now, we as humans made up the ideas of "good" and "bad", "pain" and "joy"

What most enlightened people think (no, i am not one of them) is that everything is just an experience. Each of our paths are kinda set, although we can choose how to ultimately arrive at our destination

he said that he would never give you more then you can bare. at times i feel there is just too much stuff going on. i guess thats life. and im sure others have it harder then i do.

XZeroII: I like your answer, thanks for answering.

I actually like everyones answer, thanks.

What makes you think He does?

In the Devine scheme of things, mankind was given free agency to choose between right and wrong, good and evil ,and Jesus was given as a sacrifice, that all who would believe in him shall be saved from death.

What man does, he will be judged for. And even what man doesn't do, he may be judged for.

But I surely do not think Jesus is"letting" people suffer. Mankind is. Mankind therefor, will be judged accordingly. As long as you do your best to obey the teachings of Jesus Christ and keep your faith in Him, and pray to Him often, and do unto others as you would have them do unto you, then you will be part of the solution, and not the problem you speak of.🙂

based on your post, you seem to believe in god?

do you or dont you?

The reason why anything goes in the world is because if there was any definite scientific evidence that Jesus existed (in which there is none because Jesus is supernatural in the first place, science is nothing here), there would be no reason to have the religion Christianity in the first place, now would there? You would simply believe that Jesus existed because of some fact, not because you love Him. You are supposed to believe in Jesus through blind faith. There is nothing more that you can give.

Jesus is not letting everyone "suffer". Every person has their own free will. Jesus gave this very thing to everyone when He died on the cross. If he intervened and saved everyone from every negative thing on the planet, again, you would believe in Jesus because of a worldy fact.

I don't think you'll find many people, atheists and agnostics included, who don't believe that a man whom we now know as Jesus was real and walked the earth about 2,000 years ago. Now, whether or not you feel him to be divine or simply a guy who inspired a few good quotes in a religious book is a different story, but i don't think his existence is questioned by anyone with any degree of seriousness.

I try not to ask why any more. At my age I have come to the realization that I am simply fortuanate for my very existance and am very blessed despite the pain and suffering. Who am I to ask why? Job asked why and felt sorry for himself for all the great tragedy in his life. Read that book, and maybe you will see a little more clearly.

"Where were you when the foundations of the earth were laid?" A very profound question which simply asks, who are you to ask? Who are we, to question the will and authority of God? Who are we to question his plan for mankind? We are but dust, and without Him we would have never existed, nor would ever have an eternal future.

Job 38
4 "Where were you when I laid the earth's foundation?
Tell me, if you understand.
5 Who marked off its dimensions? Surely you know!
Who stretched a measuring line across it?
6 On what were its footings set,
or who laid its cornerstone-
7 while the morning stars sang together
and all the angels [1] shouted for joy?

>>> Every person has their own free will. Jesus gave this very thing to everyone when He died on the cross.<<<

Uh, I do not believe "Jesus" did this as you state. In fact, free agency was a part of the Devine plan that took place in the Garden of Eden. The birth, ministry, and mortal death of Jesus Christ is the gift of our loving God, who gave his only begotten Son, so that man shall have life everlasting and break the bonds of death. This is not hard to conceptualize, if you would but read the Bible in ernest, and pray to your Heavenly Father, in Jesus name, that he would reveal in your heart the Truth of what is written.

That may at times seem like a daunting task, and many, many people do not fulfill their responsibilty to seek the Truth. But it is there, and is as real as the air you breath, which you also cannot see, yet it gives you life as you now know it. with your open heart and faith in Jesus the Christ, you will find a new air that will sustain you for the eternity in his Glory.

I do believe Jesus was their in the beginning, as it was said "Let us make man in our image.."--- the "our " being the operative word. That is why the Gospel is Devine and needs to be learned. It is not a mystery. Believe me, the answers are there.🙂
