Of course you're not gonna see this stuff on CNN or ABC.

Iran seminaries shut in protest at pope remarks

QOM, Iran -- Religious seminaries across Iran shut Sunday to stage protests over remarks by Pope Benedict XVI that linked Islam to violence, as the hardline press scented signs of an Israeli-US plot.

It's an AFP story.......

That has what to do with violence linked to Muslims?

Nothing. Exactly.

they?

1.1 billion people gathered up and killed a nun?

Amazing.

Your thinking sucks. Never get behind a car because if some black man cuts you off in traffic you will start thinking all black people are out to cut you off in traffic.

lol :)

Sure, if blowing things out of proportion, and creating conspiracy theories are your thing, then I guess nothing.

On the other hand, there are plenty of fools that will act on such remarks, and, no doubt, this revelation will travel all the way to Indonesia, where it will be taken as a fact.

But that's cool, it has absolutely, positively nothing to do with violence.... only potential violence.

EDIT: btw, it seemed like you need to fallback on something after I proved to you it is a "reliable" story

You failed to prove your point.

Shutting down schools in protest is linked to violence now?

They shut down the schools to protest what the Pope said. How is that sending the wrong message?

It's called a silent protest and you are somehow trying to link violence to it.

& the actions of the Iranian govt. have nothing to do with Islam. This thread is about Islam and violence. Not "Iran's govt. said this about Israel" or "Iran's govt. closed down schools".

You continue to go completley off-topic in trying to prove your point. The fact is nothing is out there to support your hate so you have to bring all these other crap to the table.

You continue to fail. I suggest you devote your time to something else. Maybe volunteer for the Republicians .. they fail all the time

I am sure it was anything but silent.

Nope -- it is Islam that continues to fail.

Unless you live in Iran to speak otherwise, you cannot prove your point AGAIN.

& stop posting crap from unreliable sources. I didnt even bother to click it after I saw the link.
A blog is your reliable source? LOL.

A blog with many pictures, but thank you for making yourself a jackass in front of everyone by not checking it.

Also, here's some more "silent" protest. That kind of stuff is the precursor to violence.

EDIT: those guys aren't Arab, so you can't blame them this time.

I never said that was a violent protest; however, the one in India has a lot more zeal.

Nevertheless, the one in the UK is bad enough; I'm sure they didn't allow themselves more latitude, like they did back with the cartoons, since they knew it would backfire: if they were to have signs saying "behead the pope", that would really trigger a backlash. The orgranizers of these events aren't totally stupid, at least not the ones in the West.

Yes they are.

Arab can be black you know

Somalia is part of the Arab league.

From Wikipedia:
By far the largest ethnic group within Somalia is the Somali people. The Somali clan structure is extremely important to their identity and way of life.

Other ethnic groups in the country include:

Bajuni people who live in the coastal settlements and islands south of Kismayo and are of East African Swahili origin
Bravanese who live in Brawa and are believed to be of mixed Arab, Portuguese and other descent
Benadiri (Reer Hamar), an urban people of East African Swahili origin who live in cities in the Benadir coastal region
Bantu agricultural workers who live along the Juba River
several thousand Arabs
some hundreds of Indians and Pakistanis

So why are you posting pictures of random protest that are not violent?

Are you against freedom of speech?

& I am not going to believe in pictures with wording on them. They could easily be photoshopped. You dont even know if the people protesting holding those signs were Muslims.
All I saw was a bunch of people holding signs on the streets that had no violence.

Place a Muslim in Montana in full Muslim dress. Do not tell me she is not going to get killed or attacked. After 9/11 plenty of Muslims got attacked in the U.S. Does that mean Christians are evil and against Muslims? NO. Unless you want to be a fool and link the actions of a few to the majority.

Stop being a bigot and look outside the box.

What do I have against Arabs? Nothing. I stated they are uneducated 61% of the entire Arab League is literate. That means 39% cannot read/write. That means 39% of them have no idea what the true meaning of their religion is because they cannot read the Quran. They have to hear about it from someone else.

Usually the uneducated live in deserts or poor areas where the people in the Mosque are pretty corrupt and uneducated themselves.

So you are now an expert on Montana and how the people who live there react?

That's not a violent protest. They are burning something in the middle of the street and stomping on it.

Looks like any college campus after a football/basketball game.

Sorry, but they didn't shoot her becasue the Pope made a racist statement, but because he made a statement about their "peaceful" religion. Nice try though.

You are linking one incident on religion?
Wow. You def. do not read your local newspaper.

You must believe the world you live in is peaceful because of course there are no such things as hate crimes outside of the M.E.

Brilliant!

My point was that these actions are usually carried out by Arabs. Arabs are the minority and their actions go against their religion so it has to be something else linked into the equation. I stated it has to do with the lack of education in those nations.

Somalis are not Arabs. Again, nice try though.

Iranian Newspaper Blames Israel and the USA for Pope?s Remarks
15:30 Sep 17, '06 / 24 Elul 5766

(IsraelNN.com) An Iranian newspaper blames both Israel and the United States for the statements made by Pope Benedict, interpreted as offensive by the international Muslim community.

The newspaper?s editor, who is reportedly close to Iran?s religious leader, blames Israel and the US for preparing the statements released by the pontiff following the ?Zionist?s defeat in the war in Lebanon against Hizbullah?.
That is two sources now, how many do you need before you believe it?
Give it a few more days and it will show up in mainstream news.

That's like asking.. what would happen if some pro-abortionist was standing in front of a crazy anti-abortion crowd?
