its been about two years since i've built a pc and i havent kept up with what's out there right now. I wanted to build a cheap computer for my sister who will mainly use it for surfign the web, and ms office activities;
what reliable motherboards do u guys recommend that are inexpensive? I will use an amd t-bird as i got an extra one and all i need is sdram as i don't think my sis is a power user....
any suggestions are appreciated...

Get something nForce-based with the whole frickin computer integrated into the mobo.

Or get a MSI KT3 Ultra2. You can find em on newegg for about $85..has onboard sound, usb 2 and some other doodads. It's a good board. Find the Anandtech article on the 'value gaming system' that he put together. Downgrade the video and a few other components and it'll be a good to go.
