Reliable Canadian ISP

Hi,

I am currently using AT&T dial up formerly known as netcom. I have been using them for years but in the past year or since at&t took over the service has been terrible. I used to get 160-180ish ping on Counterstrike games, now my ping is like 220 - 400 which I can handle but It's unreliable because my connection stops responding for very short periods every 10 seconds or so which totally screwes up the CS game because the server usually kicks me off automatically.

Can anyone recommend a really reliable dial up ISP in canada which I will use mostly for gaming?

Thanks

(p.s. I can still whip some LPB ass with my problems 🙂 )

well ...you really have to depend on certain things. For example, in manitoba videon is providing a good services on cable internet services.I tried to play with cable before, the connection is smooth.I dont know hows the ping but from wat i feel, cable is better for gaming. I know alberta also have videon, so if they are providing always logon and unlimited. why not go for it! Those are only my opinion, hopefully help you. Is your area have rogers? they providing good cable services too.

Rogers here sucks. It's quite fast in the morning but when the kids get back from school, they need to visit their pr0n sites so it gets slower than dial up. Besides, it cost double the amount dial up does which I cannot afford.

really ? oh.... because over here cable and adsl are the same amount. Althought they told me they gonna charge for extra downloads ...but until now still havent got ppl received the extra charges yet.... well in this case i think your only choice will be ADSL. I think adsl is come from one company right? like here ADSL is provided by MTS only ...

I tried ADSL, I only got around 0.30 MB/sec (30 KB) which is theoretically only 6 times faster than a 56k dial up connection. Too high a price to pay for too little.
