Question Reliable Backup Software with Low Resource Requirement

Hi All,

I am looking for a reliable backup application that runs only when I decide to do the backup, and it is completely off otherwise. I have read that backup applications like Acronis use computation resources also when inactive. Any suggestion? Thank you in advance!

I think most have something running in background if they support scheduled backups or some other features.

You could use something like macrium reflect, then make a bootable flash drive (they use win PE or RE). Then simply uninstall the program in windows so it never runs any services.

Of course, you'd have to reboot using the flash drive when you want to make a backup or restore.

Also, I doubt if these background services actually use very much resources, so may not be worth the inconvenience.

I have already read about Macrium Reflect... it looks like a reliable application.

I personally love Macrium Reflect. I use it on 2 computers and it works very well.

I recently got another license when it was on sale (you may have to sign up for their newsletter to get that info...)
