Does anyone have any experience with pulling +5v from a usb connection?

How reliable is it? How dirty is it?

I've wondered about this for charging/powering my digital camera while I'm transfering pics from it.

I agree. Its just a tap of the 5V rail on the board. Just don't overdraw the rail;)

Think about all USB devices that are powered by the bus (mice, headphones, speakers, usb hubs, etc)...

The +5V is regulated, but it will sag slightly under load.

The output is protected at 0.5A - if you attempt to draw more than that the port will be disconnected, and windows will pop up an error message.

Why do you need a fan in the mouse? OC'ed LOL!?
Yeah, WTF? It is TOTALLY pointless!
Haha, you are #487234892. The airflow is OUT, into my palm. My palms sweat when I game.

That sure looks like a cordless mouse to me... so how is it drawing power from the USB port?

Nice work though. :)

Edit: On closer examination, there seems to be a spot on the mouse for a cord to come out... but no cord... ?

So you OC'ed your palms?

All the hair on them means they get hot extra fast.

I appreciate the idea of cooled palms, but what do you do with the mousing hand that makes it sweat so much? After a few hours of FPS my palm is only moist.
