The '92 Toyota Corolla has "significant problems" with the engine, starting & charging, and accessories. Overall, 3 stars.
Meanwhile, the 2000 Ford Focus (yes, the one in all the recalls) has "moderate problems" with the engine, and "moderate problems" with heating and air conditioning. Overall, 5 stars.
What are the problems, you ask?
Well, in the Toyota, the MAP sensor, turn signal switch, and alternator justify the "significant problems" label, and the R-12 refrigerant gets a frown as well.
In the Ford, failures of the fuel pump, EGR sensor, and throttle position sensor constitute "moderate problems". No mention of the recalls.
These are just two examples, of course, but it seems a little odd to me.
