Hello all,
If you are planning to bit stream your audio via HDMI to an AVR do the motherboard audio "features" have any relevance at all?
I mean things like:
Realtek ALC892 8-Channel High Definition Audio CODEC
Dedicated audio PCB layers
Premium Japanese-made audio capacitors
Also, are there any pre-requisites to being able to bit stream audio over HDMI? Or so long as there is HDMI you can bit stream the audio.
I want to get this board ASUS Z97I-Plus as the basis for an HTPC and I want to use the onboard HDMI to connect to my AVR for both audio and video. Would this work, or do I need a discrete video card with HDMI that supports bit streaming the audio?
Thanks,
Maiyr
