Looking at my crystal ball:
The 700 series will be released exactly one day after the OP buys a 600 series card :D

there will not be big kelper like gtx 685 in august ? :(

Nvidia has not announced any gaming card related to GK110. So far only a Tesla card has been announced to use GK110, it is scheduled to be released 'Q4 2012.

Keep in mind Nvidia hasn't even finished releasing the rest of the currently announced cards.

If you're being serious and not trolling, NOBODY knows, the next card will be based on kepler and will be gk110. The only thing known is that the release date 2013 for a consumer geforce card, maxwell is coming after that who knows when.

Chances are if you check back in 8 months there will be more information available ;)

Maxwell is NVIDIA's 2014 architecture. So NVIDIA's 2013 lineup (which is reasonable to assume will be the 700 series) will be Kepler.

This.

Also, keep in mind the significant improvements between the 400 and 500 series despite them both being 40nm Fermi products. Lastly, while it is only my opinion, big Kepler (from what we can piece together) looks to be more of a compute monster than gaming monster (not to say it wouldn't be the fastest single gaming GPU around) and it might only reach the Tesla line.

With a chip of that size, clocks and yields will be major issues and the margins HPC market provide may be the only means to justify it. Again, my opinion, but if big Kepler does make it the GeForce lineup, it seems likely that it would be binned chips that didn't make the cut for the Tesla line, save for a possible limited run halo product that would be almost have to be sold at cost/for a loss.

Before anyone says anything, I'm just some Biochemist and while I have toyed with GPGPU assisted molecular modeling, I have absolutely no inside information and these are simply the opinions of a man who finds this industry (and the occasional debate involving it) entertaining.

carp :D i hope for maxwell on my cpu i7 950 .... because ....

The Maxwell architecture, the successor to Kepler, will have for the first time an integrated ARM CPU of its own (project Denver); allegedly this will make Maxwell GPU more independent from the main CPU. Maxwell was announced in September 2010 and is expected to be released in 2013 or later. Nvidia also mentioned the Einstein architecture, the alleged successor to Maxwell. Nvidia only revealed the name, as of April 2012 no further information is known about the Einstein architecture.

Gpu with own CPU will help will my old cpu :D

When nVidia released Fermi they said it was going to be 2 years between arch changes with a refresh in between. So, gtx-700 should be Kepler.

There are still few new cards in the development. Some of them are rumored but one thing is for sure, Maxwell is not going to make its way to consumer market before 2014.
We have GTX 675, 685 and 695 coming in our way and at least one of them is going to be released before we hit 31st December 2012. Rest are believed to arrive in first quarter of 2013.
The reason for no Maxwell in 2013 is the architecture problem. It is going to be based on a 20nm fabrication process and from what I have read, Nvidia and AMD are facing problems from their end. The stability issues are greater than expected and that's why Maxwell series has gone back in development mode.
There is a lot of wait involved and since, new games are supposed to require more power and new levels of global illumination, smokes, depth, 3D, surround, etc., I think the wait will pay off. :)

Do you have a source to back up the claims for a new card release this year? My system has gotten boring and I'm eager for an upgrade.

I'd be extremely surprised if there is a gtx675 or any other in-between slotted card. In fact, I am 99.9% confident there won't be any more retail releases for the desktop 600 series after the gtx650ti comes out.

If OBR's rumor from a few days ago was spot on, I'd like to hope for a refresh (gtx700 series) this December or January.
