Releasing/Renewing IP in WinXP?...FIXED...THANKS

How do you renew/release in WinXP?

I have a wireless connection on my laptop, and it just stopped receiving data for some reason. It sends it out, but won't receive. I tried uninstalling, and when I installed again, it still doesn't work.

I tried the repair function in WinXP, but it says that the Renewing IP address operation failed.

Also, when I ran 'ipconfig', it says media disconnected....

Help please.

If it says "media disconnected" sounds like you have a hardware problem. Chech if your Nic card is working as well the router is configure properly.

Thanks for the advice. I used the following command:

ipconfig /release *Con*

And that released the IP address. I then hit the 'repair' key in Winxp, and it worked. 🙂
