release early and add patches later or delay for 6 months????

This applies to either software or hardware. Which do you think is the better plan?? I think companies should release the game when it is playable, then fix all the insignificant bugs at a later time (prefereably soon after release).

Delay it long enough so there are no serious bugs. Patches should be reserved for correcting minor quibbles and adding new stuff to games.

Obviously, from a "pride in your work" point of view, they should spend sufficient time on bug squishing to ensure a product free of major defects, like AMD Junkie said. However, games don't have a large shelf life and companies are ever eager to produce dollar signs on this quarter's financial summaries, so it doesn't always happen.

All things equal, I'm gonna be watching to see if X-box titles suffer the same problems of premature release that pc gaming has suffered.
