If you're here, you can think of an answer to this question. Why do you like to read/respond to threads about relationships? Is it the opportunity to give advice, see what others are dealing with, get ideas for your own relationship, or (the inevitable) Pics?

I like to because i am not in one and i like to help people with theirs because i have a romantic side and know how to pick out flowers and such

since a lot of us dont have relationships of our own... we seek a "relationship" by reading about others and their relationships. its kind of like fulfilling a need.

I am here because I am currently in one.. and I want to see what kind of problems other couples have and see what kind of solutions fellow members give. so that in the future if I am happen to be in the similar situation I would have a solution

According to some, all knowledge is meaningless.

I respond to such threads very rarely but when I do, I do so because I have a background in counseling and because others sometimes offer useless gibberish while the seeker wants some genuine help.

So I suppose I respond for none of the reasons you stated. I don't much desire to help (in the normal sense), nor am I concerned much with others (again, in the normal sense), and receiving ideas from something with the potential to be faulty sets one up for inevitable demise so I don't much read to get ideas. I suppose I read and sometimes reply because in all, it's just what I do.

I'm still surprised to see all the "relationship" type threads 'cause, stereotypically, "computer geeks" are the most socially inept subculture so isn't it kinda like the blind helping the blind?

"Darn, I'm having gf/bf problems and I'm stumped. I think I need to seek out people who have little, or no, social skills at all for advice."

A number of philosophies believe this to be true. Though it is a difficult to contemplate, their reasons are well justified. Anyway, thanks for mentioning this point.

hehe, yea superior... i dunno though, i haven't had any girls that i've really liked for over a year now, so it makes me feel kind of nostalgic to read about other people's problems and think about way back when i used to have the exact same problems, feelings, etc. also, i get to help guys not make the same mistakes i did.
