Would you let your boyfriend or girlfriend get in between a good friendship? Or the other way around?

Lets just say that the significant other is someone that you have REALLY wanted to go out with and that the good friendship is with someone you've known for a VERY long time.

Impossible to answer. Your bf/gf should be your best friend as well, so maybe that helps you out.

You mean would you try to steal the significant other of a long-time friend?
Absolutely not.
Where is the honor in that?

No Elita, see the situation is that I have had my eye on a girl for a very long time and finally got to asking her out. We have went on two dates and things are going alright except my close friend doesn't like her and they tend not to get along. I am just wondering if i should sacrifice my friendship for the girl or sacrifice my gf for my friend.

Oh! ok I see.
well, to tell you the truth, if you really like her and she really likes you, why not pursue the relationship?
If your friend's opinion truly matters that much to you, ask why he doesn't like her or what he thinks of the 2 of you starting a relationship. Discussing it honestly and respectfully, of course.
If he is a good friend to you he won't stand in the way, nor would he end his friendship.

Yeah, long time friends can be hard. If they see somthing about your new girl they don't like, they could be gealous or right. Usually people you are long term friends with can be alot like you, and if a new GF/BF likes certain traits in you, they might see those same traits in your friend, and more they like. Or if a gf doesn't like something about your long time friend, and wants you to ditch the LTF (ltf= long term friend)
it can get tricky. If the G/BF and you have really CLICKED, they may realize something about the LTF you are missing.

But some one said here, that a your boys are closer, better than girls.

It depends on how good looking the woman is....;)

No, actually I kinda had this happen. I am now engaged to this woman and I still have my friends. If your friends are good ones, they will come around and accept who you are seeing. Now if the woman won't accept your friends....that is a different story.

I urge you to rent Chasing Amy and then suggest a threesome to your friend and girlfriend. It's the only way...:Q
