caveat: this has NOT been confirmed by an independent source as of this post, however, if it turns out to be true, whistleblowers who provide at least a miniscule form of checks and balances within this administration will have to resort to pre-cold war spy techniques to get their message out.

Congress no longer functions as the third branch of government and need to be totally replaced. Whomever you senator or congressperson is vote them out.

Wow I'm surprised more people haven't jumped all over this, I'd think this would be a big deal to everyone concerned about the NSA issue.

It doesn't need to be confirmed. The NSA program where the government gets everyones phone records can easily find most of a reporters sources.

That is one scary article. I pray it is not true, but it very well could be.

My question: With throw-away cell phones, how can anyone trace calls?
Isn't all the NSA data base of phone usage useless?

What!? You mean Bush isn't using his wiretapping powers to just catch terrorists?

The sad part is that anyone with half a brain could totally see this coming. Bush simply has no respect for the constitution of for people in general for that matter. He no doubt considers us all to be peons of the state.

Reverse-lookup. Find the number of the person who called and leaked based on who reported it. Get the number. Get a court-order and get all the info you can from Cingular/T-Mobile/Whoever.
