The author is a tool. Dan Rather shot heroin, and this asshole won't even smoke some dried leaves.

Nothing happened to me.
We smoked it out of a water pipe, and, after feeling nothing happen, we smoked four grams between three people. One person started laughing uncontrollably, and all I felt was a slow sort of motion blur, like when slightly buzzed with liquor.
I will try it again before I dump it for good.

Edit: The irony, of course, is that I will not try salvia myself. Not for lack of interest but out of fear. I have control issues.
However, I'm not going on and writing a long rambling article that says nothing of substance, offers characterizations to demonize the drug, brings in totally irrelevant issues that would be thought to generate FUD - if they weren't so flipping far off the subject that it looks like he was high when he wrote this: "In the United States, 50 people die every hour from smoking-related diseases, according to the American Lung Association", and then finishing the whole load of crap with some flippant remark about smoking a cigarette.
