Reinstalling XP Home OEM

Due to some issues I cant seem to resolve on my PC, I am considering reformatting and reinstalling windows XP. This is an OEM version, it actually came from a previous PC of mine that is long gone. It seemed to install on this PC just fine, reactivated it, updated to SP2 etc. Will this work again? I just changed the CPU, same motherboard.

I keep seeing so much about how the OEM version can only be used once etc.

Thanks for any help.

According to the Microsoft EULA (End User License Agreement), this is NOT allowed. As you have already discovered, it will usually work. But is it legal? Microsoft thinks their EULA is a legal, enforceable contract, and that you are a software pirate. Others disagree. You have to decide for yourself.

Quite honestly, I really dont want to reinstall windows, but I have a device driver I can not get rid of. I cant seem to find any info to help. I will keep looking.

should we all help amabee's problems just because he already broke Microsoft EULA?

Just kidding so what is the problem with the driver?

Ive actually already reinstalled XP.

Somehow remnants of an old Asus driver was creating issues. I could not seem to find a way to fix it. Oh well, its all good, I have most all of the updates from MS done.
