Reinstalling Windows on a rebuild

I was wanting to go from AMD XP 3000+ to an Athlon64 939 setup with a newer nForce4 board and a Raptor Harddrive...still keeping the same Corsair matched 1gb Ram and same video, and same dvd burner....Do you think I will have a problem registering XP Pro with the hardware changes?

If you have activated windows one time, and it was more then a few weeks ago, then it's fine. Activiation turned out not to be the ugly three headed dragon some painted it to be.

You'll have no problem. After the first 5 or 6 Internet activations you may have to call, but it's usually no big deal. Just tell them you're re-installing after upgrading the hardware.

It's easy to active if you own the software too 😀

I know with our MDSN, you have to call if you activate more then 5 times a year (this is with the "retail" disk from the MSDN) After a year, they reset them. Not sure if the reset is an MSDN thing or an activation database thing.
