Reinstalling Windows for a gamer

i keep the OS pretty much all to itself. That way i can format and not have to worry about my movies or games being gone.

right now i have
75GB for OS/downloads/music
75GB for games (dont play many different ones an donly have 4 or 5 installed at a time)
300GB which is all my movies
100GB which is solely for backing up my music/saved files (bookmarks, ect)/ and other stuff that should be backed up

As for faster/slower drives i doubt you would see a difference having OS and games on certain ones. And if you did it wouldn't be that huge of a difference. Unles syour talking the Solid State Drives...looking at the HTPC article it looks like SSD might be faster than normal drives but who knows on actually performance of an SSD os interacting with a normal drive if you would get a benifit in gaming or not

speed difference is minimal these days. if you really are anal get a raptor and shove the games on it.
o/s partition should be relatively small so its easy to image/restore.

If the OS and applications/games are on different partitions/drives and you reinstall Windows, how can you add the applications/games back to the "Add or Remove Programs" list without having to reinstall the apps/games?
