I have a Samusng 256GB 840 Pro SSD. I frequently reinstall and uninstall programs on my SSD. Should I avoid doing this if I want to have my SSD still working great within 2 years?

More like TBs of data. Even if you erased and then completely filled that SSD every single day (that's 256GB a day) it would last 7+ years.

Any good contemporary SSD need not be babied for almost any use. In other words, no fiddling with the location of the swap file, no moving the temp folder, no moving the internet cache, etc.

Why do you do that?

No idea why for the OP, but I bought a 120GB SSD and its going FAST without much besides Win7 64 and some support utilities to recover a failed array. When I am done all the junk is going to keep it as clean as possible, but that 120GB is premium real estate.
