I want to install a second 8800GT in SLI to give my rig a little more life. The problem is, I replaced the stock heatsink on my EVGA with an Accelero S1 w/ 120mm fan which takes of a lot of room. So I need to reinstall the stock heatsink assembly in order to fit another card in there. I have a USB and sound card at the bottom so reversing the cards won't do any good.
So what's the consensus on reinstalling the stock heatsink on a videocard, if there is one? Can I just put some Arctic Silver on the GPU and slap it on there using the old thermal pads? Or do I need to buy some new ones?
