Somehow my copy of Internet Explorer got corrupted and now will not connect. Luckily I had a copy of Netscape to get back on. I downloaded a new copy of Explorer from Microsoft and am now ready to install. I was wondering if the reinstall will overwrite all the previous settings such as favorites and things? Also just in case, what files do I save to preserve them and can I import them into Netscape or Opera? Thanks for any help....

If your just upgrading internet explorer then you should be fine.

I'm not sure if the favorites are kept in a file or the registry.

You can find your favorites under c:\windows\favorites (Win 9x/ME)
or in c:\Documents and Settings\"user name"\favorites\ (Win NT/2k/XP)

they should normally be conserved. I am rather sure you can just import them, since I think they are htmls...
