I just reinstalled WinXp on a 2x80GB raid-0 array. Prior to this I backed up everything to a single 250GB drive which I left disconnected through the actual partitioning, formatting, and installation (for safety). After the installation was complete I powered down, connected the 250GB drive and rebooted. The system insisted on scanning the new disk and while doing so it did something to EVERY file on the drive. I saw messages about orphaned files and adding something to directory files.
Anyway, about 1/2 of the data on that disk is "corrupt" Some videos and all of the photos seem to be the hardest hit.
Any suggestions? All of the data was fine until Windows played with it.
Also, it's NTFS if it matters.
