Arg! First time I've tried to use it with this GF3 Ti500... and it doesn't work. Cna only do software mode. When in OpenGL or DirectX it quits to desktop before it even gets to loading sequence! I tried updating to latest drivers, didn't help... tried going back to older ones, didn't help, tried updating my AGP miniport driver, didnt help. I'm out of ideas! I'm running DX 8.2, btw.

Anyone got any suggestions?

Thanks :)

did you just upgrade?

if so did you remove all traces of the old video card?

what about patches for the game? get them here

check your directx files to see if any are older versions etc?start/ run/ dxdiag /files also has tests

Also try some other games or benchmark it. Try the card in another computer if you have access to one. All else fails try backing up stuff and reformating if you are not comfortable with removing all traces of the old card.

The problem lies in you're drivers. You need to find a file called Opengl32.dll (or something like that) and place in you're cstrike folder.

I've had the GF3 since september, just haven't played CS. This OS install is completely fresh, so no old drivers. I have also been able to run Madden 2003, Age of Mythology, Sim City 4, etc all fine in this time period.

I can try this, but it also happens in DirectX... sigh...

I looked on Counter-strike.net forums and found that this seems to be a problem for some people to which there is no fix. I tried every fix they mentioned, and none work and there seem to be a bunch of people in the same situation.
