reinstallation (from winMe) of a killed-win2k (in unaccessible ntfs5 partition) will maintain previous data?

thanks in advance.

Define "previous data."

If you're talking about all the stuff in your \documents and settings\%USER$ folder, yes. Reinstall Win2k, rename the folder (temporarily), create the account, logout, login to account, logout, login to admin, delete the FOLDER, rename the old folder to its previous name. I've saved myself there a few times.

If you're talking about all the stuff you've saved over the months, yes, it will. You'll still have to install all of your old programs though. If you keep your previous user profile as described in the previous answer, the task might become a bit easier as some programs store their regkeys to the registry, and if you installed them using that account, you won't have to enter them.

Keep in mind though, this is ONLY if you install without formatting the parition.
