reinstall of win98SE over win2k?

hello

my comp is set up to dual boot win98SE & win2k pro

i want to reinstall win98SE because it is corrupt & not running correctly. however, i have win2k as an O/S as well.

can i just go ahead and install win98SE? or can't i? or do i have to do something special? thanks all

Yes you can, I suggest making a copy of you boot.ini and all the other files held on your C: partition if it's designated just for the boot (I have a 100mb C:, 5gig D: win2k, 5gig win98, ect) I would back up the C: b/c win98 has this great feature that kills all that and makes it automatically boot into win98..... hope this helps... I can explain better if you need....

Yeah, it does stink when you hafta install Win9x after NTx. NT usually does a great job of noticing the other OS and setting up a dualboot option for you. I'm not sure how you are set up so I can't help much. GOod Luck.

After installing 98SE insert the Win2k disk and run setup. From the options choose repair installation. This will re-create the text based boot menu that allows you to choose which OS to boot into.
