Reid Reid Reid

Has decided to amend his ethics accout for a land deal . . .

along with a couple other land deals.

So the question is:
Should he be burned at the stake, or merely beheaded and have his head placed on a pike.

Yeah, people are trying to equate Reids lack of reporting profit on a land sale in a timely manner with the Republicans passing legislation written by Jack Abrahamoff for money.

Well if he just amends it and there are no further legal or ethical charges, nor an investigation, I guess it's case closed. Yeah? Too bad, the GOP was just smelling the blood in the water.

Maybe we should call the post title---Reid--Abramoff---Delay---Ney---Cunningham---Rove --Libby--GWB--Jefferson--Cheney---Boehner---Reed--Rice--Hastert--Frisk--Foley.

All accused or various types of corruption---to put things in perspective---2 democratic names---14 Republicans.

And all you want to shout is Reid Reid Reid------next time put things in perspective.----the Republicans have not only become the party of lawyers and lobbiests---they have become thieves,
liars, and progandists-------and rotten largely from the top.----drunk on power and money.

I considered 'Gimmie - Gimmie - Gimmie - Gimmie - Gimmie - Gimmie'
But I'll reserve that for Abramoff and his 'Government for Sale' in another thread.

First order of business when the Democrats take the Senate (or even tie) . . . pick a new leader.

Reid is shady. "Clerical errors" is another way of saying . . . 'yeah, you caught me lying, again.'

QFT. If all of this turns out to be true, there should be, at the very least some admonishment of him. And he should definately be knocked out of the #1 spot in the Senate.

No law was broken, just Senate Ethics Rules. That isunless a quid pro quo could be established, which isnt likely.

However, he has clearly broken laws by using campaign money as personal money.

I say, just the land deals shouldnt make him step down, but now that there are other issues, he should immedately resign his leadership position.

Hes now spouting how the republicans are using personal attacks. Well if the attacks are true it doesnt matter. If they were false personal attacks yeah Reid would have a point, but all allegations against him are apparently true.

New scandal for Reid

Looks like Dirty Harry has been using his campaign contributions to pay Christmas bonuses to workers at the Ritz-Carlton (where he LIVES, LOL).

This must be that damn "Culture of Corruption" Howard Dean has been telling us about!

Something we agree on here Red.

If anything they will find he broke some tax law because of the way the deal went down.

Reid to reimburse campaign for donations

Details on his latest screw up
Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid has been using campaign donations instead of his personal money to pay Christmas bonuses for the support staff at the Ritz-Carlton where he lives in an upscale condominium. Federal election law bars candidates from converting political donations for personal use.
and
The law specifically defines prohibited personal use expenses as any "obligation or expense of any person that would exist irrespective of the candidate's campaign or duties as a federal officeholder."
I see no way for Reid to talk his way out of this one, looks pretty clear. He used campaign money to pay an expense he would have had to pay no matter what.

This has been going on for 3 years, so it is not some one time mistake. What a cheap bastard.

Of course FEC is nearly worthless and most Reid will see a fine for this abuse sometime in 2012 or so.

Reid needs to go, talk about party of corruption, two reports in a week on Reid breaking the law or breaking rules, this guy should never speak about ethics again.

Reid talking about ethics is like Clinton talking about fidelity.

He should be tried for treason and shot if found guilty like anybody else in our system that breaks federal law while serving the people.

If guilty - burn burn burn :D

Metaphorically ;)

Anyone should get the fullest extent of punishment if you are fount to engage in corrupt activities while working for the government -- the business of the people.

Of course when we look at it, for every corrupt dem we got like 5 republicans. all that means though is we are not looking at dems hard enough :D

If he broke the law, he should be held accountable. However, I see very little law breaking and a lot of Sean Hannity-ish hand waving from the righties and the press.

He clearly broke campaign finance laws.

I say if he broke the law, then give him his day in court just like would happen to me.

Apparently unlike you and I elected officals can just "make up" for it and never be charged. A normal person isnt going to get away from theft charges if they give the item back, but a Senator can illegally use campaign money, and then pay it back.

He should resign all leadership positions period.

PSA: The people who care about this Reid thing already made up their mind about who they'll vote for. If you want to get moderates interested, it needs to have SEX to get any traction.
